Sura 37 As-Saffat (Standing in rows), aja 51 – 59

1. قَالَ قَائِلٌ مِنْهُمْ إِنِّي كَانَ لِي قَرِينٌ

   A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion (on earth)

   37:51

2. يَقُولُ أَإِنَّكَ لَمِنَ الْمُصَدِّقِينَ

   Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe

   37:52

3. أَإِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَإِنَّا لَمَدِينُونَ

   That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'"

   37:53

4. قَالَ هَلْ أَنْتُمْ مُطَّلِعُونَ

   He will say, "Would you (care to) look?"

   37:54

5. فَاطَّلَعَ فَرَآهُ فِي سَوَاءِ الْجَحِيمِ

   And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire.

   37:55

6. قَالَ تَاللَّهِ إِنْ كِدْتَ لَتُرْدِينِ

   He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me.

   37:56

7. وَلَوْلَا نِعْمَةُ رَبِّي لَكُنْتُ مِنَ الْمُحْضَرِينَ

   If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in (to Hell).

   37:57

8. أَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ

   Then, are we not to die

   37:58

9. إِلَّا مَوْتَتَنَا الْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ

   Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?"

   37:59
